Being in a car accident is the last thing anyone wants - but when it does
happen, there are ways of making sure that the legal and insurance issues
are handled with as little stress as possible.
First of all - stay calm.
If someone is injured, be sure to call for medical
Make sure you call the police.
Don't publicly make any statements where you either
accuse the other person of causing the accident or take all the blame
yourself. It could open you up to legal problems.
Whatever you do, don't leave the scene until you've had
a chance to talk with the officer and you've gotten their name. It's
important to make sure that your side of the story goes on the record.
Afterward, it's a good idea to get a copy of the police report.
Make sure you have a pre-printed copy of your insurance
information in the glove compartment, along with a camera you can use to
provide pictures for the insurance company. A disposable camera with a
flash for nighttime or interior shooting is usually best for this.
In dealing with the other driver, make sure you get
their name, address, driver's license number and insurance information - and
that they get the same information from you.
Also, make sure to get information from any witnesses
Make sure you get pictures of any physical evidence of
what could have caused the accident.
Write down pertinent details such as where the accident
took place, what the weather was like, etc.
Once the information's exchanged, report the accident
to the insurance company immediately, even if it's not your
Make sure you understand how you're covered, and don't
be afraid to ask the insurance company to explain the conditions of your
coverage and payments.
Don't be afraid to seek legal advice - and don't sign
anything if you don't understand it.
When you're using a body shop to get repairs to your
vehicle, be aware that the insurance company can recommend a shop, but you
are under no legal obligation to use its services. You have the legal right
to choose the shop to do your repairs.
Also be aware that insurance companies sometimes try to
dictate what type of parts are used in a vehicle's repair. They might
insist that a shop not use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, as
they are more expensive.
You have a right to know what kind of parts are being used on your vehicle,
and to know if your insurance policy dictates what kind of parts can be used
in your car. If your policy lets you choose, you have the right to decide
An insurance company also has the right to inspect your
vehicle, but it is not required to do so. In addition, they cannot require
you to visit one of their own claim centers.
And finally: Make sure you learn from this accident,
but also let yourself move on from what happened. Everyone has an accident
once in a while - it's just something that happens.
This place is awesome!!! So glad I finally found a reputable, honest, and fair mechanic in Las Vegas!!! I highly recommend this place if you have any work needed on your car.
After months of bringing my car back and forth from the dealership, because they "couldn't figure out" what the problem was, this guy figured out the problem within an hour...thanks RG Motorworks!!! Just went back for some more work on both our cars and again, very satisfied.
Still drove out from the west side to come here for my maintenance needs. Honesty, efficiency and reasonable prices are what have kept me coming. Plus Tita's fresh gourmet coffee.
I was referred here by Hector who now works here. My window regulator went out. Price of $443 including tax and labor was fair but you always pay more for Mercedes Benz. I dropped it off day before and they had it ready by noon. I'll be going back.
Really great bunch of mechanics. The receptionist is super nice as well. I own a Mercedes and a Jaguar. This is my place to go for any kind of work needed on my vehicles. I can assure you that you will get great deal and an honest evaluation on your car. Give these guys a try. Thanks RG Motorworks.
RG Motorworks is the only place I trust with my Beamer and SUV, never did I have to come back for a back job. Not like dealerships or other shops that will squeeze you for every penny that you've got. Friendly people and great mechanics. I will never go to another shop again. Keep up the great work and more power to the business. I highly recommend this place to all car owners out there!
Feel very fortunate to have found RG Motorworks to do the regular annual required services to our 12 years old Mercedes Benz . Having moved from the east coast where there are plenty of authorized and reliable Benz service shops we were worried what to expect from our few choices in town. Everyone in RG MotorWorks was very professional
and helpful, services on my car were performed as those I would expect from Benz dealership mechanics, and as someone else mentioned, without any surprises on your bill . That sweet lady in the office even arranged for our car service when she found out we would need a vehicle while they are working on our car. The best part was that she extended a special shop discount to us with the car rental place. Thank you RG Motorworks and we will definitely see you again on our next service !
I was looking for someone trusted and reliable when it comes to my car care. Found this spot through a family friend so I gave it a shot, everyone is welcoming especially Nanay/Tita. She's very accomodating and nice. I had to leave my car overnight to make sure everything will be taken care of, picked up my car the next day and very pleased with the result. My car was running smooth, and some minor problems got all fixed. And now, I've been coming here too for my oil change and other vehicle maintenance. I would recommend this spot, if you want a trust-worthy crews and QUALITY service!
This company was referred to me by my friend. They deserve my 5 star rating. The first visit was for my Suburban. They rebuilt the transmission and the service was excellent! Second visit was recently, Ryan (mechanic) fixed my Ford Econoline service van, replaced the cylinder head. Again A+ service. Third visit was for my another two service vans, two Ford Transit 250. He did oil changes and checked the brakes. I just walked in, I always forgot to set an appointment, but still they helped me the same day. They are professional and honest.
Excellent customer service! 5 stars is not enough!
I'm a transplanted New Yorker fairly new to the area but my son has been here a while and emphatically recommended RG. My experience here was really good. This appears to be a nice family operation. I think that's mom at the front desk. Sweet sweet lady. Anyway, our repair was a replacement a/c condenser for our baby; an 08 Eclipse GT. Reasonably priced and expertly done. Holding up well.
Thanks to my neighbor for recommending them! Excellent service and friendly staff! RG Motorworks diagnosed an ongoing problem with my car and was able to fix it along with other work that it has been needing for quite some time. Prices were reasonable and the work was completed within a couple of days. I'm so glad I went to them.
